The prompt "Close your eyes and picture yourself a few months or years from now. What are you doing?" I think about it a lot, and I always have trouble. Do I want to be in finance, health, real estate, cryptocurrency, food and beverage? I don't know, but people tell me that's how it should be, you're young. And in all honesty, it's freeing not knowing. I am a double major in entrepreneurship and marketing. I love to be creative and have difficulty settling on one thing.

I spend hours working, reading, and thinking. Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 11 pm, are scheduled to strictly learn. Friday- Sunday are less scheduled but incorporate learning and working. This schedule allows me to balance learning and enjoying my free time. I believe a well-structured schedule is critical as it sets you up for wanting to continue working hard and not giving up. With my hard work mindset and entrepreneurial thinking, I am not worried about my future. I like to live through the mindset of having fun and working hard.
My passion is in helping others and feeling satisfied. I want to give back and help those less fortunate than I am. It's important to want to help and see others succeed, especially in leadership. In my business, I want to create a welcoming environment where employees want to work. It's hard to be satisfied, and moving the goalposts is very common; I have to make sure I can be satisfied.
Projects are usually in groups at school, which is good because it allows me to be a leader, but I also like coming up with my ideas and working on them individually. I have done individual projects at the launchpad, such as SilverSeats, and I have led group projects in other areas, such as my wellness portfolio with Wellness and BlueBuddies. They teach you different things. Group work is more about collaboration, bringing together people with diverse ideas and skill sets. It's essential to align the team's vision and goals. Each member has a distinct skill set that can be used to achieve the goal. In individual work, the vision is yours. You are solely responsible for solving the problems. You can make up your workflows, strategies, and timelines. Both offer benefits.
Marketing helps build on my entrepreneurial nature. I decided to add marketing as another major this year as I see it as valuable for my job and personal life. It is important to market yourself to others and let others know what you bring. Effective marketing helps build relationships. Marketing has helped me engage in conversation with others and build trust. Marketing helps build trust as it fosters consistency, transparency, and understanding. Like in effective marketing, building trust in life is about authenticity, reliability, and empathy. In marketing, you are taught to know your target audience; the same goes for life; when you know your audience, you can communicate more effectively. Whether at a job or just in everyday life, marketing is always involved.
I am currently looking at jobs in finance, specifically wealth management, as that position combines my love for finance and creativity. Most wealth management jobs I have applied to are commission-based, and you need to be able to get clients to make money. Just like with entrepreneurship, wealth management requires thinking outside the box to come up with solutions for your clients. It's also about building connections, which I've learned to do through marketing. Through my entrepreneurial spirit of hard work and determination and my marketing skills, this position would allow me to combine the best of both worlds.
